  1. May 26th is memorial day and getting a backcountry permit for that weekend before or the few day after will probably be even more difficult than usual. Since the 15th of May is the earliest the Northrim opens for hiking, depending on Mike and Leslie's teaching schedule, the closer to that date the better. From some of the articles I've read it's best to submit the permit with flexibility of dates and in what route/ camps you plan on staying. This increases your chances of obtaining the permit. Thoughts or ideas?

  3. Our Nichols Disney Adventure has come and gone and it's time to start thinking about this trip again!! I posted an article about physical conditioning on the Hiking Tips page. Have a read and let's start talking about what some of us will be doing to train for this hike! John, Biggs and Rose, when the new year rolls around we could get together once a week or so to Run stairs down at the arch for an hour, probably would be good training I would think. Thoughts? Looking forward to this guys!
